"We recently visited Samakato in Al Barsha for a friend’s birthday celebration, and the experience was a solid blend of flavour, warmth, and value — with a few areas that could use some fine-tuning. We started with two seafood soups — one with cream and one without. Both were excellent, with rich flavour, fresh seafood, and comforting warmth to kick off the meal. The highlight of the evening, without a doubt, was the 1kg grilled shrimp with tomato butter gravy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, and the gravy was bursting with flavour — tangy, buttery, and perfectly spiced. We also tried the seafood pasta in white sauce, which was quite good — creamy and satisfying, though not as standout as the shrimp. The shrimp rice was decent, but didn’t leave as strong an impression. Interestingly, one of the surprise favourites at the table was a vegetarian dish — the tomato and eggplant. It was so flavourful and well-prepared that it was gone within minutes! It came served with fresh Arabic bread, tahini, and a slightly spicy red hummus — a combination that elevated the entire dish. It reminded us how often vegetarian dishes get overlooked, especially in a seafood setting, but this one absolutely held its own. Ambience-wise, the restaurant has a warm, welcoming feel. It’s clean, nicely lit, and great for casual gatherings or small celebrations. Price-wise, Samakato is quite reasonable, especially considering the quality and quantity of the food. They also offer daily deals, so it’s worth asking about those. If there’s one area that needs improvement, it’s the service. While the staff were polite, we had to repeat requests multiple times — whether it was for glasses, sauces, or reminders about how we wanted the shrimp cooked. We had requested half grilled and half fried, but ended up getting a full grilled portion. Not a major issue, but with a bit more attentiveness, the overall experience could have easily reached five stars. Final verdict: The food was five-star, the ambience was pleasant, and the value for money is excellent. Despite minor hiccups with service, we’re definitely going back, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for flavorful seafood in a cozy, budget-friendly setting."

We were served by a guy called Kareem … and he made sure that we get the best experience in our life .. he was generous and kind and absolutely present at our table whenever we ask for anything. "Very very yummy food. Highly recommend. Every dish is very nice. I think the orange shrimps is the best one. Fried calamari is and seafood soup are also great. Any dish on the photo is good to try. Would definitely come again."
